Nurtured Heart Approach

What is the Nurtured Heart Approach?

We want problems to be given as little energy as possible, for consequences to be short, and for the child to be energized for the things they are doing right.

The approach is simple, but not intuitive. We all think we are already loving and nurturing to our children and students. Using the Nurtured Heart Approach, you will learn to change the way you think and react. You will be trained to see the good in every situation. To build children up giving them confidence to be successful, with clear rules and ways to self-regulate themselves. This approach promotes “you are a successful person who can learn and behave” vs. promoting “behave and learn so you can be a successful person”.  Instead of chasing some good relationships with your self, we provide mass quantities of evidence you already are good, valuable, worthy, and belong. In fact, you are more fantastic than you know and it gets even better.”

Build Their Inner Wealth

The Nurtured Heart Approach® is a relationship-focused methodology founded strategically in The 3 Stands™ for helping children (and adults) build their Inner Wealth® and use their intensity in successful ways. It has become a powerful way of awakening the inherent greatness in all children while facilitating parenting and classroom success.

The essence of the Approach is a set of core methodologies originally developed for working with the most difficult children.  It has a proven impact on every child, including those who are challenged behaviorally, socially and academically. The Nurtured Heart Approach has been shown to create transformative changes in children diagnosed with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder and other behavioral, emotional and anxiety related symptoms – almost always without the need for long-term mental health treatment. Even children experiencing social cognitive challenges, like Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger Syndrome greatly benefit from the Approach, reducing the need for traditional mental health and medical interventions.

Traditional approaches often fall short of promoting the Inner Wealth essential for children to build successful relationships. This method has helped thousands of families, educators, and child advocates channel a child’s intensity in beautifully creative and constructive ways – helping children achieve new emotional portfolios of confidence and enduring levels of competency.

The Approach is simple and accessible. Using resources like our books, online courses, and certification training, we hope to show you how utterly easy it is to not only improve your situation with an challenging or difficult child, but to transform the child through the awareness that their intensity is actually the source of their greatness.

Claudine Baker

“The Nurtured Heart Approach gives a parent a different set of glasses with which to view their children – to look for their greatness, however small, in any situation, and to bring it to the child’s attention so that they bask in the warmth of the parent’s compliments on a continual basis. Negative behavior is given minimal energy so that the child is basically unplugged from the parent’s energy when they misbehave, and as soon as they correct themselves they are showered with compliments again. The NHA refocuses a parent’s perception of their children to look for their greatness and energize it, which has a roll-on effect on the whole family. Yael is spilling over with enthusiasm regarding this approach and brings helpful examples and animated discussions into her workshops.”
